Calgary Expo 2015 - Kelly Bender: Comics, The Process and No Pants

The 10th annual Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo kicked off yesterday and comic writer, Kelly Bender, sat down to talk about his latest book SNARL, that he co-created with  Nathan Kelly and colors by Josh Jensen, letters by Micah Myers and published by INSANE COMICS. Now living in Singapore, but from Calgary, Bender is enjoying the freedom that comes with not having to wear pants, but rather shorts 24/7.  I've only just started reading SNARL and if you're attending the Calgary Expo this weekend, I highly suggest you go by Bender's table to meet him and pick up his book, it's pretty cool. Bender gives us the dirt on getting into comics and the importance of having a body of work when it comes to pitching to a publisher. "There's no Lebron James's in this industry. No one is going straight from high school to Image Comics," Bender says.

He also points out the many avenues you have available when it comes to actually making your comic a reality. Go ahead, click on that little Soundcloud link and listen to Kelly Bender: Comics, The Process and No Pants.
