Calgary comic and pop culture artist, Jackson Gee, has seen his fan base grow over the past few years at the Calgary Expo and other shows as well. In talking about artist's asking him for advice, the one question he hears quite often is: How do I get better? Jackson's answer: "Hard work. And hard work trumps talent all the time." He goes on to mention just how humbling it is to have fans come meet him and tell him how much they like his work. Which make all the late nights quite rewarding. Some of that late night work involves putting pencil to paper on some of his loves, including classic 80's cartoons and games.

And, he has an anthology book called Wishless that he did with writer and artist Nick Johnson, that's slated for an early summer release. In fact, they're hoping to launch it at the Panel One Comic Creators Festival on June 4, 2016 at the Hillhurst Community Association. But hey, before we jump too far ahead, there's still one more day left of Calgary Expo 2016. So if you're going to be at the show on Sunday, you can catch him at table Q01, or you can find him at jacksongee.comGo ahead, hit play and enjoy my interview with Jackson.
