Panel One 2018: A Conversation with Shea Proulx

The following interview was recorded, and written by Chris Doucher, Managing Editor for GeekNerdNet. (GeekNerdNet.com is the Official Media Sponsor of the 2018 Panel One Comic Creator Festival)

Recently, I met Shea Proulx at the 2018 Panel One Comic Creator Festival. Shea is the artist and writer on such works as Alice in the Womb and ABC Monstrosity. Her books are very unique and completely engaging. ABC Monstrosity is a visual narrative that comes complete with definitions of the monstrosities encountered in the book, but “…real surreal definitions for real things, because real things are weird,” says Shea. Her other work is a colouring book titled Alice in the Womb. Shea goes on to talk about her process, and what keeps her going. To hear the full interview, hit play on the Soundcloud link. (*If you have any issue playing the audio, please reload the page and select/tap/click where it says “Listen in browser.”) Shea’s upcoming book is Alice at Naptime, which will be released in spring 2019 through Renegade Arts Entertainment.
