In 2023, I had the pleasure of meeting movie, TV and comics writer Jeremy Adams, when moderating his comic panels at Edmonton Expo and Fan Expo San Francisco. It’s always a blast talking with Adams. This week is no different. The Green Lantern scribe, as well as writer on the soon-to-be released Flash Gordon series (July 24, 2024 via Mad Cave Studios), makes Adams one of the busiest writers in comics today. To say his output of absolutely thrillingly fun and action-packed, engaging stories on Green Lantern is amazing, would be a massive understatement. And, if you managed to get your hands on Flash Gordon #0 on Free Comic Book day (May 4/24), then you know he’s going to make his mark on this iconic character in an incredible way.

Previous works of Adams includes multiple DC animated movies and shows, Supernatural, Teen Titans Go!, a variety of LEGO, Mortal Kombat, Flashpoint Beyond, Avengers Unlimited Infinity, Supersons, Monkie kid, Scooby, and The Flash.

For this week’s spotlight chat, Adams talks about how he made the jump from writing animated features to comic book writing with DC, the origin of his social handle, Spacekicker, and how he (and his brother) made their way into a video game. Abd so much more! Adams shares so many cool back stories as they relate to his comics, and other works. This is your must-watch/must-listen to interview of the week. I definitely didn’t allot enough time for Adams and I, so stay tuned for a part 2 someplace down the timeline. In closing, I want to take a quick second to sincerely apologize to Adams for the delay in publishing our interview. Okay, one more note: If you have the opportunity to meet Jeremy Adams at a convention, please do so. He’s an absolute gem of a human. Hit play on the video below and enjoy hearing from one of the brightest lights in comics today—Mr. Jeremy Adams.
