Calgary Expo 2016: Max Overacts Creator Caanan Grall Talks Stories And GoFundMe

Talented and funny cartoonist and comic artist, Caanan Grall, took time to speak with me on day four of the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. He talks about his creator-owned series Max Overacts and gives kudos to his loyal fans. Plus, we go outside the lines as Caanan opens up about his current medical situation. Bottom line, he is going in for surgery on May 24, 2016 to have a tumour removed from his brain.

Understandably, his recovery will take about three-to-four months, and being self-employed and a stay-at-home-father, Caanan and his family will need some help. A gofundme campaign launched last month (on April 15) with a goal to raise $5,000. I am happy to tell you that the generous outpouring of support now sees the campaign at $11,675 as of today. If you'd like to help out Caanan and his family, please visit the GoFundMe page. And hey, there's no easy segue here, but go and buy a copy of Max Overacts for yourself. You'll be happy that you did. Plus, sitting right beside the CoCo Brooks pop-up restaurant all weekend was a pretty nice perk as well. All right, hit play on the Soundcloud link and have a listen to this genuinely nice and talented guy.
