CLLDF Announces Emergency Relief for Canadian Comic Shops

The Comic Legends Legal Defense Fund (CLLDF) officially announced today that they are launching a rental relief program to help Canadian comic book shops, due to COVID-19 essentially shutting down the industry (see their press release below). Case in point, Diamond Comic Distributors shut down its service back at the end of March, meaning no new comics or related merchandise will be shipped (side note: Diamond has said to various sources that they will ONLY resume operations once it is safe for the health and wellness of their staff, and that State authorities give the green light to them, and a variety of other businesses to operate.)
Back to the CLLDF. As you may know, many canuck comic shops are - where possible - surviving on curbside sales/pickup alone. In my opinion, that’s just keeping the lights on. Having said that, much credit goes to all of the fantastic comic readers who are doing what they can to buy comics they have on file, and/or purchasing older comic runs/collected editions. If you’re a creator, or even a fan and want to do your part, you can put up items for auction - which closes April 29, 2020 at 12 p.m. ET. Check out the CLLDF page about how the auction works. And be sure to hashtag your auction item with: #Canucks4Comics. Here is the official press release that CLLDF put out this morning.
